West Bengal State co-operative bank was formerly called as a Bengal provincial co-operative federation. The Bengal provincial cooperative federation was formed on 19th February 1918. This federation was again named as Bengal Provincial cooperative banks in 1923. After the partition of the country, this bank was named as West Bengal provincial co-operative bank. In 1964, the West Bengal state co-operative bank was formed with adherence to the guidelines of Reserve Bank of India.
