Karnataka Bank is a public sector bank which was established in the year 1924. The bank has its headquarters in Mangalore in coastal Karnataka. The bank currently operates 781 branches and 1382 ATMs covering 22 states and 2 union territories. The customers of Karnataka Bank have both online as well as offline options for Aadhar linking of their bank accounts. The Aadhar linking process must be completed before 31st March 2018 to prevent account deactivation.
Traditional method
Traditional or offline method means visiting the home branch of the bank. Home branch is where the customer has opened the account. Offline method is suitable for people who are not very comfortable with internet banking even though the latter is a much more convenient option. The steps to be followed have been listed here.
- Get the application form called “Consent Letter of Aadhar Enabling” from the bank. It can also be downloaded from the bank’s website.
- Fill the form correctly without omitting any detail.
- Submit the form along with a self-attested photocopy of the Aadhar card.
- The bank may ask the customer to produce the original Aadhar card for verification.
An SMS is sent to the customer’s registered mobile number after the linking process is successful.
Internet banking method
Online banking method eliminates the need to visit the bank branch. The customer must have a net banking account. The steps to be followed have been given here.
- Visit the official website of the bank https://karnatakabank.com/ and click the Internet Banking option.
- Log in to the account using the user ID and password.
- Click the “Customer Service” tab.
- Enter the 12 digit Aadhar number in the field present on the web page.
- Click the “Submit” button.
A confirmation message is sent to the customer after the linking process is completed.
